This Month:
January’s Homeschool Wednesday (HW) theme is: Winter Survival. This session will be for grades 4th and up. Participants will work together to learn shelter building, fire starting, and what to do in a winter emergency! There is a maximum capacity of 20 participants for this class. Please register below!
This class will hike out away from the Center and will be done mostly outside in the park, or possibly across the street at Lake Ahquabi. Please make sure to dress appropriately for the weather and conditions. Families are welcome to take advantage of the Annett Nature Center while we are at our class.
One Wednesday each month, we will have a specific program topic chosen. There will be different times specified for different age groups to allow learning at their level, with their peers. The topic may be the same but have slightly different activities based on the ages present.
Our wish is that Homeschool Wednesdays offers a chance for non-traditionally educated students to get together with other students their age to learn about a fun, educational topic. We also hope this serves as a new outlet to socialize with other students who are also learning at home.
We hope you will take advantage of our trails, shelters, and Nature Center before and/or after your child’s age group’s program to take an exploration hike, bring a lesson from home to a new setting, eat lunch, or explore the exhibits in the nature center.
