DESCRIPTION:Calling all wildlife biologist kids! Telemetry is the process of recording and transmitting information from specific equipment. Learn about how scientists use telemetry equipment to track and record information about animals like wolves! Your child will get a chance to handle the equipment and gain knowledge about what all wildlife biologists can learn from the movements of groups of animals.\n\nThis program is for grades 3- 5. A parent/guardian should stay with their child/ren. Limit of 20 participants\, but you only need to register the child.\nPlease register at by Thursday October 12th.

Children must be accompanied by an adult \nJoin a WCCB naturalist to learn about the Owls of Iowa. Learn to identify owl calls and hike down the trail to listen for owls living in the park. Winter is a great time to call for owls\, but be sure to come bundled up for the cold February weather. This program will be held at Pickard Park\, we will meet in the shelter. \nThis activity is free but please pre-register by Tuesday\, February 21st. Learn how easy and fun it is to snowshoe while experiencing the great outdoors. Fun for the whole family! We will provide general instructions and snowshoes. Dress for winter weather and wear warm boots.\n\nIn order to snowshoe\, there must be at least 5 inches of snow\, and the event will be canceled if there is not enough snow. Please register so we can have your snowshoes ready\, and can contact you should we need to cancel.\n\nAfter you register\, you will be sent an email asking you to please indicate your height and weight\, so we can determine snowshoe size.
