Learn how easy and fun it is to snowshoe while experiencing the great outdoors. Fun for the whole family! We will provide general instructions and snowshoes. Dress for winter weather and wear warm boots.\n\nIn order to snowshoe\, there must be at least 5 inches of snow\, and the event will be canceled if there is not enough snow. Please register so we can have your snowshoes ready\, and can contact you should we need to cancel.\n\nAfter you register\, you will be sent an email asking you to please indicate your height and weight\, so we can determine snowshoe size. SUMMARY:Winter Solstice Yoga
DESCRIPTION:The energy of the Winter Solstice is deeply reflective. The Winter Solstice marks a return to light from darkness that we experience within ourselves and in nature during the cold winter months. Yoga helps us move through this season and more deeply align with the energy of the changing seasons\, and release unwanted darkness that no longer serves us. \nJoin Bethany with Begin Again Yoga for a 90-minute yoga class that will move through postures that are held for longer periods of time in a restorative manner\, paired with meditation techniques to relax both the body and mind. This class will focus on letting go of what is no longer serving us and explore the depth of postures to bring new opportunities. Bethany approaches her yoga classes with all levels of yogis in mind\, so all are welcome to this practice. A yoga mat\, layered clothing\, and water bottle are encouraged for this class. \nBethany combines yoga postures\, breath work\, and mindfulness into a complete package for therapeutic classes. She first started practicing yoga to help alleviate the side effects of stress and anxiety. The journey has brought her to share those same healing experiences as a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher to those who would like to live a more enjoyable life and have better general wellness. Bethany leads her mixed-level community classes with a goal of others experiencing the same benefits of yoga on the mind\, body\, and spirit. \nThis class is being offered at a discounted rate by Warren County Conservation and is only $15 per person. This will be held at the Middleswart Lodge at 15875 118th Ave Indianola\, IA 50125.

Warren County Conservation Board is hosting its annual Candy Cane Hike on Saturday\, December 3\, 2022\, from 9 am to Noon. Come hike the trails at the Annett Nature Center to find the candy canes hidden along the trail. Do you have the eyes to find them all? If so\, enter your guess in the candy cane box for your chance to win a candy cane-themed goodie bag. The winner will be drawn at noon\, and you do not have to be present to win. Staff will have hot chocolate\, hot cider\, and cookies for you to enjoy after your hike\, while supplies last. Feel free to come and go as you please.

Vendors will have all sorts of items to get you ready for the upcoming holiday season. *Vendor Fees will support a nature playscape at the Annett Nature Center. \nFree To Enter! \nEach vendor was selected based on how well their products fit into the following categories: nature-themed\, hand crafted\, up cycled or repurposed\, Iowa based\, photography\, artwork\, items locally grown or created\, and items inspired by nature. Unique items are preferred\, and similar vendors will not be doubled. \nInterested in being a Vendor?\n-Vendor fee is $25\, nonrefundable\, that will go towards a nature playscape at the ANC.\n-Each vendor will be provided with an 8 foot table to display from.\n-The WIFI at the Annett Nature Center is slow and not always reliable\, especially with multiple people accessing it. You may want to have a personal hotspot option for your devices.\n-Applications will be approved based on how well products meet the requirements\, and if other vendors of similar types have been approved. Jim Coffey teaches from a practical and experienced point of view as he teaches about butchering and cooking larger animals. This class will feature beavers! This is a hands-on experience and will feature tasting opportunities. \nThis program is geared towards adults and due to the safety measures with the nature of this program\, participants must be 16 years or older. Be aware that clothes may get dirty. \nThe class fee is $10 per person to help cover materials. Space is limited but there is a minimum of 5 participants required to hold this event. \nRegistration is required by November 1st.

SUMMARY:Warren County Geocaching Amphibian Adventure
DESCRIPTION:Grab your GPS\, your hiking boots\, and get ready to explore! Find all 25 geocaches and collect the trading cards\, April 1\, 2022 through November 1\, 2022. \nThere are 25 Geocaching Amphibian Adventure Caches hidden in county\, state and city parks around Warren County. Your challenge is to explore the parks and find them all using a GPS. Each amphibian cache includes an instruction card\, a logbook\, and a stack of amphibian trading cards. Sign the logbook to show that you found the cache and take a trading card for your collection. Explore the parks and trails to see if you can find some amphibians along the way. \nAfter finding all 25 caches\, take your 25 collectible cards to the Annett Nature Center. We will give you the coordinates to find the last cache challenge. Take a picture of yourself with the very last card or all of your trading cards. Feel free to include family\, friends\, your dog\, or anyone else that helped you finish the challenge. All participants who finish the challenge by November 1\, 2022 will receive a finisher medal and will be added to our Geocaching Adventure Finishers Gallery.
