SUMMARY:Geocaching Fungi Adventure
DESCRIPTION:What is the Geocaching Adventure?\nThere are 25 Geocaching Adventure Caches hidden in county\, state and city parks around Warren County. Your challenge is to explore parks and find them all using a GPS. Each cache includes an instruction card\, a logbook\, and a stack of themed trading cards. Sign the logbook to show that you found the cache and take a trading card for your collection. Discover the parks in the evening or your back yard and see if you can identify a fungi. \nAfter finding all 25 caches\, take your 25 trading cards to the Annett Nature Center. We will give you the coordinates to find the last cache challenge. Take a picture of yourself with the very last card or all of your trading cards. Feel free to include family\, friends\, your dog or anyone else that helped you finish the challenge. All participants who successfully finish the challenge by November 1\, 2024 will receive a finisher’s token and your photo will be posted on our Facebook page as Geocaching Adventure Finisher. Then\, take the winter months off and check back in the spring for the next geocaching theme. \nGet Started Today!\n• Download all the coordinates from below onto your GPS (available April 1st)\n• Use the GPS device to determine your location in relation to the cache. The GPS device will show you how far away and in what direction the cache is hidden.\n• Find the cache\, sign the logbook and take your trading card\n• Create a free account on geocaching.com and log your finds. The 25 caches can be found by searching for “WC Fungi Adventure” ( You can also download coordinates straight to you GPS from here or use the Geocaching app on your smartphone to find them) \nCheck back to our website on April 1st\, 2024 at 8am to download the general map and coordinates: https://www.warrenccb.org/activities/geocaching/geocaching/ \nOr open up your Geocaching.com App on April 1st starting at 8am to start caching!\nCreate a free account at: https://www.geocaching.com/play

FULL\n1st Grade and under\, with a maximum of 25 participants. This session we will learn about what snow is\, where it comes from\, and make a fun snowy craft! This session will mostly be indoors. \n10:00-11:00am: Snow Lesson\n2nd Grade – 5th Grade with a maximum of 25 participants. This session we will learn about how snow is made\, and the different types of snow\, and make a fun snowy craft! This session will mostly be indoors. \n2:00-3:30pm: Snowshoeing\n6th Grade & Up with a maximum of 20 participants. This session we will learn about the history of snowshoes\, how to measure and put on snowshoes\, and we will go on a snowshoe hike. This session will be mostly outdoors\, please wear sturdy\, warm\, waterproof boots. (Ugg type boots don’t work very well for this.)\n*This program requires 4 or more inches of snow to prevent damage to the snowshoes\, and will be canceled if we do not have enough snow.* \nAbout Homeschool Wednesdays:\nOne Wednesday each month\, we will have a specific program topic chosen. There will be different times specified for different age groups to allow learning at their level\, with their peers. The topic may be the same but have slightly different activities based on the ages present. \nOur wish is that Homeschool Wednesdays offers a chance for non-traditionally educated students to get together with other students their age to learn about a fun\, educational topic. We also hope this serves as a new outlet to socialize with other students who are also learning at home. \nWe hope you will take advantage of our trails\, shelters\, and Nature Center before and/or after your child’s age group’s program to take an exploration hike\, bring a lesson from home to a new setting\, eat lunch\, or explore the exhibits in the nature center.

SUMMARY:Forest Therapy Hike: Spring Cleansing
DESCRIPTION:Warren County Conservation invites you to join us in a nature & forest therapy guided immersive walk in nature. Forest therapy is a practice that brings people into a closer relationship with nature and natural places. \nWe invite you to unplug\, slow down\, and experience mindfulness in nature. These gentle three-hour walks will focus on opening and using all your senses to explore nature. Shinrin-yoku or forest therapy can provide many positive health benefits such as boosted immune functions\, lowered blood pressure\, decreased anxiety\, increased focus and attention\, relaxation\, and a connection with nature. Staff is certified with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Association. \nForest Therapy is a practice. It is open-ended; there is no prescription for what a person “should” experience\, or what benefits they “should” receive. Each person has a different relationship with nature. \n*Location Information: The trail that we will take near the Middleswart Lodge can be steep in some areas. We will be walking at a leisurely pace\, and can easily take breaks as we go along. This is not a distance hike\, but enjoying the journey. Depending on the weather it may be muddy.  \n**Please wear clothing appropriate for the weather and dress in layers. We will hike if it is light rain (adds quite a bit to the experience) but not if it is thunderstorming.  \nThe fee for this walk is $20 per person and registration is required by Thursday\, March 23rd.
