DESCRIPTION:Have some fishing fun with us! Bring the family out to learn the art of fishing. Participants can learn how to tie knots\, cast\, and fish safely. The fishing competition will take place at Lester Pond. There will be awards\, door prizes\, and a free fish-cleaning demonstration. Bring your own pole or borrow one of ours. Bait will be provided. You will also be able to try fish bites cooked by the Izaak Walton League. *Fish will be fried in peanut oil.\nIt’s FREE — join us. A fishing license is not required for participants at Kid’s Fish Day. Please register each child so we can plan for bait and materials! SUMMARY:Forest Therapy Hike: Spring Cleansing
DESCRIPTION:Warren County Conservation invites you to join us in a nature & forest therapy guided immersive walk in nature. Forest therapy is a practice that brings people into a closer relationship with nature and natural places. \nWe invite you to unplug\, slow down\, and experience mindfulness in nature. These gentle three-hour walks will focus on opening and using all your senses to explore nature. Shinrin-yoku or forest therapy can provide many positive health benefits such as boosted immune functions\, lowered blood pressure\, decreased anxiety\, increased focus and attention\, relaxation\, and a connection with nature. Staff is certified with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Association. \nForest Therapy is a practice. It is open-ended; there is no prescription for what a person “should” experience\, or what benefits they “should” receive. Each person has a different relationship with nature. \n*Location Information: The trail that we will take near the Middleswart Lodge can be steep in some areas. We will be walking at a leisurely pace\, and can easily take breaks as we go along. This is not a distance hike\, but enjoying the journey. Depending on the weather it may be muddy.  \n**Please wear clothing appropriate for the weather and dress in layers. We will hike if it is light rain (adds quite a bit to the experience) but not if it is thunderstorming.  \nThe fee for this walk is $20 per person and registration is required by Thursday\, March 23rd.

Come hike the trails at the Annett Nature Center to find the candy canes hidden along the trail. Do you have the eyes to find them all? If so\, enter your guess in the candy cane box for your chance to win a candy cane-themed goodie bag. The winner will be drawn at noon\, and you do not have to be present to win. Staff will have hot chocolate\, hot cider\, and cookies for you to enjoy after your hike\, while supplies last. Feel free to come and go as you please.
