Our naturalist will provide instruction on how to handle a canoe to avoid damaging it\, how to get in and out of a canoe safely\, how to paddle effectively\, and how to navigate in the canoe with other people. This class will teach about boat safety\, and offer the opportunity to explore the pond. \nNo experience necessary\, we’ll teach you everything you need to know! Lifejackets are required and provided. We will put up to 3 people in each canoe\, so kids may get a chance to meet a new person/people! Registrations will open 1 month prior to the date at 10am.\n***Due to an all staff training\, we had to adjust some of the times of these classes.** \n9-10am: Snow Lesson – Registration closed. FULL\n1st Grade and under\, with a maximum of 25 participants. This session we will learn about what snow is\, where it comes from\, and make a fun snowy craft! This session will mostly be indoors. \n10:00-11:00am: Snow Lesson\n2nd Grade – 5th Grade with a maximum of 25 participants. This session we will learn about how snow is made\, and the different types of snow\, and make a fun snowy craft! This session will mostly be indoors. \n2:00-3:30pm: Snowshoeing\n6th Grade & Up with a maximum of 20 participants. This session we will learn about the history of snowshoes\, how to measure and put on snowshoes\, and we will go on a snowshoe hike. This session will be mostly outdoors\, please wear sturdy\, warm\, waterproof boots. (Ugg type boots don’t work very well for this.)\n*This program requires 4 or more inches of snow to prevent damage to the snowshoes\, and will be canceled if we do not have enough snow.* \nAbout Homeschool Wednesdays:\nOne Wednesday each month\, we will have a specific program topic chosen.
