Hunter Education
Classroom Courses:

August 5 & 7 2010

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources requires that anyone born after January 1, 1972 wishing to purchase a hunting license in Iowa must satisfactorily complete an approved Hunter Education course prior to purchasing a license. Classes are sponsored by the Warren County Conservation Board, the Warren County Izaak Walton League, Warren County Pheasants Forever and Three Rivers Ducks Unlimited.

IMPORTANT:

Students under 14, you will need a parent or guardian to create a profile and then, under the "spouse/children" tab in their user profile, create a subaccount for the student in order for that under 14 student to be able to register.
Two traditional Hunter Education classes are normally scheduled at the Warren County Izaak Walton League - Class I will be held March 18 & 20, 2010 and Class II will be held August 5 & 7, 2010. You can register for these classes by going to the DNR Training Center - DNR Training and typing “Warren” into the search field to find the class. Email Jim Priebe or call the WCCB at 515/961-6169 with questions.

Traditional courses are normally held in two sessions: a Thursday evening session from 6:00-9:00 p.m. and a Saturday session from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Studenta must pick up a packet and complete homework prior to class. Attendance at both sessions is required. The student’s full name, date of birth and social security number will be needed for the Iowa DNR to provide certification. You provide registration information through the Iowa DNR's secure web site at the Training Center link above.
